The strategy was pretty basic, drive around fast instead of trolling, and just look for dolphins and Birds.
Like clock work, as soon as we hit the depth that we were hearing about, dolphins appeared.
We cast 2-3 times each and then move with the dolphins again. We did this over and over until we started to see some bait, and then some birds, before we knew it, we were in a full blown dolphin, gannet, pilchard bust up.
We couldn’t see any yellow fin yet, but it felt about as fishy as you could get.
The bust up dissipated, and we were starting to think should we just troll around for a little while, and right at the bow of the boat a small striped marlin just about ate Paul’s lure at rest in the water 2 meters from the front of the boat.
That visual gave us the boost of confidence to just keep on casting until something happened.
Sure enough not long after Paul was on.
