In this video I show you how I like to transfer my commercial sewing patterns to sturdier paper for repeated use. If you have purchased any garment patterns these days you've probably seen that many of them include several different sizes you can make. Well, if you cut around one size that's all you'll be able to make from that pattern. Instead of cutting into the original pattern I like to transfer over all the markings and recreate sturdier pattern pieces to work with, especially if it's a pattern I plan to reuse over and over again or if I'd like to make it in a few different sizes included without having to buy multiple copies of the pattern.

In the video I teach you how to copy the pattern markings to regular plain white 8.5" x 11" printer paper and inexpensive manila folders. Some other surfaces to use are poster board and pattern making paper which often comes in rolls.

For this project you will need:
- commercial sewing pattern
- rulers (straight and curved, depending on your pattern shapes)
- sturdy paper or posterboard to trace on
- a spiked tracing wheel
- a marker
