Today we returned to the neighborhood with a 500m long sidewalk full of grass and trash that had not been cleaned for 3-5 years. People threw trash and rocks all over the sidewalk, we had to scoop them up, which took a lot of time and effort. In the harsh hot weather of Vietnam, just standing in the sun made us sweat profusely, plus the activity made us lose water very quickly. While working, the girl who helped us clean up the day before came to return my shirt to me, and brought a surprise that we encountered for the first time. The girl brought us glasses of refreshing winter melon juice and a very large grapefruit, which she intentionally hid under her shirt to surprise me. When I pulled the shirt out, I was really surprised, just when I was tired, having a cool drink with sugar helped my body feel much better. We rested for a while and the girl helped us to finish cleaning the unfinished sidewalk, we tried our best but it was sunny and tiring so we stopped working. At that time the girl also went home although I invited her to eat but she refused. Thank you very much for your kindness, today was a wonderful day for us.
As usual, we clean the grass, sort the inorganic waste into the trash, then dump the grass and organic waste into the wasteland to decompose. I do not put the grass in the trash because it will be overloaded and difficult for the garbage collectors. We can only contribute a small part to help the community. I will save money to buy more power tools and machines to work faster, to be able to clean and clean more places.
