Well, that’s a wrap on the 2020 event season... a strange if not anything else! I feel lucky to have been able to compete 4 lovely horses for the last two months, albeit with ups and downs but I’m very excited for next season with these fabulous boys❤️

It’s been a tough year for everyone but we’ve all been fighting our own battles. As well as everything Covid had to throw at me, I’ve also been fighting something else. As some may remember, back in March I had a nasty fall of Gordon where I suffered a fair blow to the head and some nasty impact injuries down my right side. I thought because of lockdown and not competing I would get away without the ‘Post Concussion Syndrome’ that was so awful to go through just 3 years ago when I was 17. However, around June time it became apparent that this was not the case. After suffering with insomnia through May, I then wanted to sleep all night and day through June... symptom number 1. Then came the quite honestly, dreadful vision and headaches which actually prevented me from driving for a short while! Symptom number 2. Then came the sensitivities to light and sound, the unbelievable fatigue and pins and needles in limbs. Symptom number 3. After being diagnosed by the doctors I have since been treated by the brilliant Dr Kerry Sissons. Kerry has managed to keep me together enough to complete the season but believe me when I say it hasn’t been without some very very difficult days.

There are so many to thank for making this year happen. Firstly to my parents, family and owners for helping and supporting no matter what. Secondly to my amazing sponsors and supporters Sederholm Alison Parker Photography Protexin Equine Premium Equilibrium Products @mp. They all play a massive role in keeping myself and the horses fit and ready to compete. Thirdly to the ever fantastic Laura McAlister who joined the team this year as groom and has done a brilliant job of keeping the show in the road when I’m not around and allowing me the occasional down time here and there! Also to all the other people that have stepped in to help when I needed it, they know who they are. Lastly, thank you to all of you out there who are always cheering me on and making the best days all the sweeter and the bad days a little better. It’s truly a special sport we do... a shout out to all event riders... WE MADE IT TO THE END OF THE 2020 season💥

I will now enjoy some quiet time leading up until December when we’ll start to pick things up again.

Last but not least, enjoy this video of my four boys acing it this year❤️
