Ever wondered what you need to dye cotton or other plant based fibres? Look no further! In today's tutorial, we learn how to mix our dyes and hand paint our warp using Procion fibre reactive dyes.
The fibres I have used in my warp today are
Slub cotton from www.threadcollective.com.au
16/4 Supima cotton from www.threadcollective.com.au
5/2 and 10/2 mercerised cotton from Lone Star Loom Room
8/2 Ring spun cotton from Georgia Yarn Company
8/2 Sparkle Supima cotton from Saltwater Rose Threads

You will need -
Yarn! Cotton or other cellulose (plant based) fibre.

Fibre Reactive Procion dye - You can buy Fibre Reactive Procion dyes from dharma (US based) or Kraft Kolour (Australian based)
Soda Ash - You can find soda ash at your hardware store in the pool chemical section
Textile detergent or blue dawn/fairy dish soap
Face mask to protect airways
Gloves
Tarp to protect workspace
Plastic to wrap your yarn after dyeing
Measuring spoons
Funnel
Sauce bottles
