A Distinguished lecture by Professor Philip Bobbitt, Herbert Wechsler Professor of Jurisprudence and Director of the Center on National Security, Columbia Law School. Professor Bobbitt, the co-author of Impeachment: A Handbook, will describe the constitutional context of Presidential impeachment and dispel a number of popular myths about the process and its history. He discusses the current impeachment of President Donald Trump, the role of the courts in impeachment and its aftermath, impeachment precedents and the rules for indictment and conviction of the President.
