Here's a rare recording of Jaco's bass solo from a concert that took place at the Civic Auditorium, San Fransisco on September the 8th during the Shadows & Light tour with Joni Mitchell. Along with the solo from the famous filmed show at the Santa Barbara Bowl that took place the day after, I consider this to be one of the best Jaco played during the entire tour. He sounds inspired, even during the "Slang" section of the solo that tended to sound a bit like a routine without too much surprises both on the rest of this tour and with Weather Report by this time. That's not the case here, and even though it is an audience recording the audio quality is very clear and captures Jaco's tone nicely.
