In his latest video, I discuss the history of the Ponte dei Pugni ("Bridge of the Fists") in Venice, drawing parallels to the story of Romeo and Juliet. highlights the long-standing rivalry between the Nicoletti and Castellani clans, who frequently engaged in fistfights for more than 400 years until 1705 at the bridge. The bridge, lacking railings, became a battleground where clansmen tried to push each other into the dirty canal. Spectators gathered in large numbers below, watching from rooftops and windows, as if it were a sporting event. The groups were identified by the color of their hats - red for one and black for the other.
