Many people have fallen in love with the style of Thai trousers - a wide model that fits any size. The main thing is not to make a mistake with the width of the fabric. These trousers are sewn according to this principle. But with some minor modifications, they are easy to take on and off without any ties.
For sewing, you will need two lengths of fabric with a width of 150 cm. For me this size is 70x116 cm. The larger your size, the larger the size of 116 cm, you can go up to 150 cm.
The trousers are cut according to this pattern. I think everything is clear here, the main thing is to position the fold correctly. Here the fabric is folded in four.
After cutting, the fabric needs to be unfolded and small changes made. Where it will be in front, lower the belt by 7 cm, and at the back put 2 cm to the left.
Here the fabric is folded in half.
Now you need to make a seam in the middle, where the indentation is, and overcast the edges.
When they are unfolded, they are Thai trousers.
But this model will have an elastic band.
Next, I processed the edges: I turned them under and stitched them.
Then I wrapped the sides. The ones in the front were bent back by about 16 cm, and the ones in the back forward. This value is individual.
I prepared a strip of fabric for the belt. Here you can insert one wide elastic band, two narrower ones, make a fold at the top, there are many options.
The width of the belt should be equal to the width of the trousers. Where the connecting seam is, you must leave an unstitched area for the elastic to enter.
I stitched the waistband and left 1.5 cm at the top for assembly.
Ready.
Fitting.
The pants look like a skirt. It’s even better if the fabric is flowing. The model is easy to carry out, ideal for those who want to quickly get something new.
