Head coach Jason March and members of the Memphis Hustle and Memphis Grizzlies basketball operations staffs observed and evaluated player-hopefuls in the first of two open-tryout sessions for the 2019-20 training camp roster on September 21 at Christian Brothers University.

Last season, Memphis native Nino Johnson and Jay-R Strowbridge participated in the tryouts and joined the team for training camp. They later rejoined the team during the season and played key roles in the franchise’s first playoff victory.
