Alongside Massive Attack's "Blue Lines" and "Protection", Tricky's "Maxinquaye" decidedly influenced my inner circle and me in the late 90s. This particular track probably holds the record of being most "looped" in my crib.. see, what we used to do, usually utterly blissed out, is play a record we really loved on repeat for hours, sometimes even days.. "Hell is round the corner" got looped for about 70 hours straight during xmas time :D (not exactly sure about the year, but it had to be '96 or '97).
