Everyone knows the Archies and that in 1969, they had the #1 Record of the Year, with their song, "Sugar, Sugar." But most people probably don't know that the voice behind the animated lead singer was Ron Dante, who was also the voice behind the Top Ten hit, "Tracy" by the Cuff Links. He also produced the first nine albums by Barry Manilow! Now, he's been traveling the concert circuit as a member of The Turtles (It Ain't Me Babe, Happy Together) where I saw him live at the Smith Center in Las Vegas, NV on July 20, 2024, as part of the Happy Together Tour. Even after 50 years, "Sugar, Sugar" still sounds sweet!
