In Part 1 of this 3-part series, we join forces with my good friend ‪@HeavyDSparks‬ to sit down with the Anderson family and Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Cold Case Detective, Ben Pender. Together, we dive deep into the disappearance of Steven Willard Anderson, who vanished without a trace on June 6th, 2004, in Salt Lake City, Utah. That day, Steve told his family he was heading to the family cabin near Flaming Gorge, a 3-4 hour drive away. He left driving his dark green Toyota Sequoia, Utah license plate 597-LPA. But neither Steve nor his vehicle were ever seen again—until now. This is where the search began. This is how we ended up finding Steve, and it’s a journey that reveals the heart-wrenching, complex reality of solving cold cases.
