This is a video showing you how to remove frets from a guitar using a soldering iron, I’ve removed lots of frets in the last 25 years, and I think that this method is by far the best. It is fairly common, but it seems that not enough videos are on YouTube showing this particular type of iron. Lots of videos that I have seen show using the small pencil style, soldering, iron, and they do not work nearly as well. I use a Weller gun style, you can get them at garage sales for often 10 or $15, or you could also get one of the Internet if you would like. In addition to the soldering iron, I use a small tang nipper with it’s face ground down smooth and sharp. I welcome any comments or questions.
