Anthony Matumba a member of EFF Central Command Team says the party is calling for the immediate resignation of Justice Minister Thembi Simelane. This follows allegations that she secured a loan of 500-thousand rand from a company that allegedly brokered investments of nearly 350 million rand by Polokwane municipality in the now-defunct VBS Mutual Bank in 2016 Simelane was serving as a Mayor of Polokwane when she allegedly secured the loan.

And Auditor General Tsakani Maluleke says Only 34 out of 257 municipalities received clean audits for 2022/23
