Despite rainbow trout not being native to Texas, the allure of the Guadalupe River draws anglers from far and wide for an unforgettable fishing adventure.

The Guadalupe River is rated in the top 100 trout streams in the America and is the southernmost trout fishery in the US. The rainbow and brown trout are stocked in the Guadalupe River under the Canyon Lake Dam by the Guadalupe River Trout Unlimited (GRTU) and the Texas Parks and Wildlife (TPWD). These rainbow and brown trout provide some of the best winter and spring fly fishing in Texas. To preserve the only year round trout fishery in Texas I only use single hooks and remove the barb off of my hooks.
