About a couple of hours away from Calgary, Alberta, the Upper Kananaskis Lake is a must-see place. This is a large lake which is very good for kayaking, canoeing, and paddling. We brought our 4-person inflatable raft and had a real good time boating in this lake. Parking could get a bit busy especi during the summer months. Picnic tables were mostly in shaded/treed areas. We find this lake more appealing than the Lower Kananakis Lake but both are equally worth the drive.
