Domaki song
Singer: Ehtsham
Presented by IPPAC

IPPAC presents the first ever Domaki (Daudi) language song. This is the first time that a Domaki language was represented at any forum. IPPAC introduced the singer during its 4th Pakistan International Mother Language Day 2016 held in Islamabad Pakistan.

Domaki(Daudi) langauge – spoken by a very small number of people residing in Mominabad village near Karimabad (Baltit).
Doma people (or Bericho as they are called by Burushaski-speaking majority) until recently were a sort of low-status caste of musicians and blacksmiths socially and ethnically isolated from the rest of Hunza and Nagar.
Domaki language is now on the verge of extinction and hardly ever spoken outside of Doma’s households who prefer to use Burushaski in their everyday life. It is said that nearly 500 speakers left.
