Duel, the second of four Blake's 7 compilation tapes from BBC Video in the mid Eighties, introduces the series' main ongoing antagonists Servalan and Travis across three edited episodes.

This extended video examines all 78 cuts made to Seek-Locate-Destroy, Duel and Project Avalon by comparing the 1990 VHS re-release to the unedited DVD.

TIMELINE:

1986 - "Duel" is released on VHS (BBCV2031) and Betamax (BBCB2031) formats. Video presentation is credited to Sarah Thorne.

November 1986 - The compilation appears on Laserdisc format exclusively in Japan, published by the Pony Canyon label. No further Blake's 7 compilations were ever issued on the format.

April 1990 - "The Beginning" is re-released on VHS (BBCV4327). BBC Video would commit to releasing all 52 episodes of Blake's 7 (virtually) complete and unedited on VHS the following year.
