This video shows Projectile's method for removing deposit/fouling from the tubes of an air cooled heat exchanger. These exchangers are sometimes called fin fan heat exchangers. The fouling comes from debris in the air that is sucked into the coils of the tubes. The tubes are many rows thick and it is difficult to remove the debris from in between the tubes. Projectile uses a semi automated system that sprays the tubes with high volume low pressure water to remove fouling. The high volume weighs down the deposits on the tubes in order to remove the fouling. The pressure is high enough to assist with cleaning the tubes, but not too high to bend the fins of the tubes over. This tube cleaning system can be used on horizontal heat exchangers, A, or W shaped air cooled heat exchangers.
