There are 26 letters in the English alphabet. "a, e, i, o, u" are main English vowel letters. "y" - is a special vowel because in some cases it can be a consonant. For example: in the word "you", the letter "y" is a consonant, but in the word day "y" is a vowel. English consonants are b, c, d, f, g, h, j, k, l, m, n, p, q, r, s, t, v, w, x, z.
