We're heading into the very first weekend of October, 2024, and weather-wise it's lining up a lot like it did in October of '22 and '23, when days upon weeks of E/NE winds finally laid down and W/NW winds kicked that fall striper run into hyperdrive. So, will the season's first buffalo stampede occur during the first weekend of October, just as it has in seasons prior? If you're feeling as optimistic as we are (6:55) you might want to spend the next day or two checking your gear with Open Boat tips. Jetty jocks are catching tautog (14:38) and whole lot of exotics pressed up against the Jersey Shore from this onshore onslaught of easterly winds; we're back in black sea bass this week (17:25) for the month of October opening up new Dream Boat opportunities for The Fisherman subscribers, and our weekly freshwater update (21:15) from the Pocono Outdoors Guy, before wrapping up this week's video fishing forecast with a pending IGFA World Record blowfish (24:10) from Barnegat Bay - or perhaps two of them. We have weekend events to talk about, plus a look inside the Viking facility (31:50) at a new 74-foot sportfishing yacht expected to turn heads in Fort Lauderdale later this month.
