This fishing trip had the potential to be either extraordinary or utterly disappointing, given the numerous obstacles I faced. Despite being one of my most demanding fly fishing endeavors on the Guadalupe River, it ultimately proved rewarding when I managed to reel in the largest rainbow trout I've caught in quite some time, after a strenuous struggle using only my hands.
