JAMBILI is Folk-Fusion group formed in the year 2007 with the aim to revive the traditional Karbi folk music which was a dying art form from North East of India.
The name Jambili is derived from “Jambili Athon” a symbol that represents the five major clans of the Karbi community. It is a progressive fusion of Karbi folk music with musical styles like jazz, pop, punk, funk & math rock. Their songs talk about contemporary issues of the society that needs immediate justice and attention.

Members of the band:
Daniel Engty: Folk instruments, Guitar, Vocals.
Kuru Ingti : Guitar & Karbi Percussions.
Paul Engti : Electric Bass,Traditional Instruments & Vocals.
Elvis Ingti: Drums & traditional Karbi drums.
Language: Karbi, Assamese, Hindi & English

This band was selected through Banyan Tree's initiative for NorthEast Indian musicians, Brahmaputra Raga Jazz. Launched in 2018 to encourage and promote the talent from North East India this initiative was supported by Tata Trusts. Several bands auditioned under this initiative and top 5 were chosen by best industry professionals. These bands were groomed, given platform to perform and were recorded under our Music Label Ninaad Music.
