Sky News host Peta Credlin says Australians are losing our “shared access” to national landscapes to Indigenous groups as Mount Warning remains closed to the populace “depending on your skin colour”.
“Now it seems our shared access to Australia’s spectacular natural landscape is also under threat depending on your skin colour,” Ms Credlin said.
“That’s what is happening now.
Mount Warning was closed during the COVID pandemic, but remained closed due to its "cultural significance" to the Indigenous population, she said.
Ms Credlin stated, in 2022, the NSW Department of National Parks recommended handing over the management of the Mount Warning site to the Wollumbin Consultative Group. Which previously claimed allowing females, including Indigenous, on the site, would ruin its cultural significance.
