It took me longer than usual to gather and organize my thoughts for this topic, but the additional time evidently proved beneficial. Today's discussion touches on yet another intriguing subject, that of selfishness versus unselfishness and how either characteristic is generally understood. It is ostensibly the case that through necessity we are all selfish to a degree, but what truly makes extreme selfishness reprehensible is when we examine its often devastating consequences for individuals and broader society. How selfish, or unselfish, you decide to be is ultimately your call. However, you would be well advised to realize that you do so at your own peril. The middle ground between extreme selfishness and unselfishness is likely your best bet if you desire to avoid the pitfalls of either end of the spectrum.
