As soon as I saw the viral Tiktok by @froginahatgirl, I knew I had to make a video on it! By total coincidence, I ended up ordering two different croissant lamps. This made comparing the two much easier and also how obvious it was that one lamp was a real croissant dunked in resin. I decided to go further and test the lamp for bacteria and mould. The results were quite impressive as it didn't have any traces of either. However this isn't that surprising as mould only tends to form on bread products with a high water content. Croissants are dry so they tend to go stale instead of going mouldy. Resin is also a powerful preservative so that probably prevented many areas of the bread from growing bacteria before it dried up.
