Extended Rating Information Below:

The following are guidelines that will help us judge maps consistently and fairly.

Playability:

-How difficult is it to survive in the map? Is the map missing certain aspects of gameplay that enhance or are required for survival? Consider the amount of food spawns, vehicle spawns, vehicle maintenance gear, ammo spawns, gun spawns, zombie spawns, zombie difficulty, mega spawns, etc. that will affect how players are able to survive within the map. Maps must included "high tier" locations or content within their map in order to receive a good score. The map also must not be too difficult for a single person to survive. All maps will be tested at normal difficulty and if they don't play well at this difficulty then they will lose points. An indication of a map being to difficult is having to reset yourself in order to regain food/water or infection levels. An indication of a map being too easy is having to throw away or overlooking valuable items (like food, water, guns, ammo, clothing) early (within the first hour) in the game because of an excess of those types of items.

Aesthetic:

-Is the map visually appealing? Does the map look good in every aspect excluding detailing? Consider the landscape, materials, bouldering, foliage, natural formations, etc. Are an appropriate amount of materials used and do they look good together. The landscape should not be overly uniform and should contain unique areas that are enjoyable to look at or to explore. The trees and foliage should enhance the natural areas of the map and prevent them from becoming boring. The colors within the map (lighting, water, sky colors) should be pleasing.

Detail:

-Is the detailing throughout the map quality and consistent? Was there blatant usage of copy pasting when creating the map? Consider the density of the detailing as well as how realistic or how well it fits the theme of the map. The detailing should demonstrate that the map creator took time and care when designing the map and all of its parts.

Coherency:

-Does the map follow a common theme throughout? Do all parts of the map work together to create a single environment within the map? Consider the consistency of the detailing and the quality of the natural environment throughout the entier map. The map should also have a consistent/appropriate amount of item spawns in all locations of the map and the items that are spawned should also make sense for the area that they are found in. Zombies should be dressed to fit the theme and environment and should drop item spawns in accordance with the theme and difficulty of the zombies in question.

Presentation:

-Is the map appealing in the steam workshop? Does the posting provide the essential information needed to understand the purpose and contents of the map? Consider the amount of information (pictures/videos included) that is provided with the map posting. We are looking for the amount and types of locations present, as well as the size and purpose of the map (whether it is RP, for servers, PVP, etc). Multiple pictures or a good video are required in order to receive a good score. Also if there is no text included with the posting it will receive a 5/10 or less.

Variety:

-Does the map contain an appropriate amount of variety throughout? Is the map boring in its lack of defining features? Consider item spawns, vehicle spawns, changes in difficulty, natural environment, etc. The map should have variations in difficulty, item spawns, zombie types, etc. This should keep the map interesting as the player explores different parts of it. All facets of variety should be confined within the overarching theme of the map so that the consistency within the map is not broken.

Easter Eggs:

-Easter eggs are extra jokes, references, or secret areas within a map. They are not marked on the satellite or chart and do not represent a substantial location. The may or may not provide any useful materials/items for the player and are mostly included for fun. Easter eggs that do included some (minor and not over powered) value to the player will revive higher scores over ones that are useless to the player. Also easter eggs that took considerable time designing or hiding will also receive higher scores than those that were quick and simple to setup. Easter eggs are by no means a requirement for any map but should be appreciated by players that find them.
