Embrapa Soybean, established in April 1975, has contributed decisively to the viability of soybean cultivation in Brazil, especially for its advancement in the tropical region, promoting the sustainability of the production system and ensuring technical conditions for the maintenance of its cultivation.

Headquartered in Londrina (PR), Embrapa Soybean is one of the research centers of the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa), under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply. It focuses on strengthening the soy production chain in Brazil, caring for increasing their competitiveness through sustainable and multidisciplinary strategic actions. These actions are integrated to a wide inter-institutional partnership network and the prospection of current and potential demands.

Also works in the development of cultivars and production systems for sunflower nation wide and for wheat for Paraná and surrounding states. Embrapa Soybean also has outposts in Ponta Grossa (PR), Goiânia (GO), Uberaba (MG), Vilhena (RO), Sinop (MT), Palmas (TO) and Balsas (MA). The historical contribution of Embrapa Soybean to agribusiness place the intitute as a world reference in the development of tropical technologies.
