I love the soundtrack to John Carpenters The Thing. However, every version I have heard including numerous bootlegs and fan collections/edits have never used the actual full end credits track from the movie.

The movie version is not quite same as whats on the official album (different stereo arrangement, missing reverb at the start, most likely a different take or rerecording probably) and all the other versions out there are mostly taken from that album or another similar re-recorded album. The ones that do use the actual music from the end of the movie always cut into the track late after the voice and foley tracks fade out.

So. like the generator in Outpost 31, The voice and foley tracks are now gone.
The track has been restored to only the music - just as it should be. I put this together from the recent(ish) blu-ray release's 70mm 4.1 dts-hd track, restored and edited within Izotope RX7.

I believe the official track name is 'Humanity Part 2' but this one is not like the others... so I don't know.
