48 Hours in East Java, Indonesia - Perfect East Java Itinerary

East Java is one of the most underrated places in Indonesia. Right next door to Bali, it has some of the most incredible landscapes we've ever seen. We spent two days exploring East Java, visiting the famous Rainbow Village (Jodipan) and East Java's incredible active volcano, Mount Bromo.

We did a Mount Bromo sunrise tour from Malang, where we were treated to an epic view of Mt Bromo for sunrise, rode in a 4x4 across the surface of the crater, and hiked up to the rim of the active volcano within the crater. We stayed in Malang, but you can also book a Mount Bromo tour from Bali.
