Katy school district's Mike Johnston Field at "Legacy Stadium," which has cost about $72.1 million to construct, is scheduled to open this fall.

The total cost outweighs other high-priced high school football stadiums in Texas. Allen ISD's 18,000-seat Eagle Stadium in Dallas cost an estimated $60 million, while a 12,000-seat venue also being constructed in that region at McKinney ISD is costing about $70 million.
