On 10th of April, 2010, a Polish air force operated TU-154M crashed during its approach to 'Severniy' military airport in Smolensk, Russia. The crash took lives of Polish President Lech Kaczynski, his wife, most of country's military leadership and the lives of other various government officials. 96 people in total were lost to the tragedy. They were all flying to commemorate the Katyn massacre tragedy but unfortunately never made it. It became the largest tragedy by death count that ever involved a President of state.
