I work for a day in the Intermoda maquila (textile factory) in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. I learn how jeans are made for the Pepe brand, beginning with design, cutting, sewing, washing, and packaging. I have many questions before entering the factory. What is a typical day like for a factory worker in Honduras? What are their hours? What is a typical lunch like? How do they form the stripes and rips for urban style jeans? Who designs the clothes? How are the photos prepared for product catalogs? How much does a factory worker earn and what benefits do they receive? Do they get vacations?

More than 600,000 Hondurans work in the maquila industry. As a result, Honduras is the country that exports the most clothing to the United States in all of Central America.

Intermoda is a 100% Honduran company that employs more than 1,000 people in San Pedro Sula. The company has the goal of producing the best jeans in Central America. Thank you Intermoda and Pepe for giving me the opportunity to get to know the maquila. My total respect to each employee and employee. I didn't know that behind every pair of jeans and piece of clothing, so much effort and sacrifice are made
