Singing in the Cree language was both a pleasure and a challenge for members of Mississauga Festival Choir at The Trampled Earth Concert. As mentioned in the video, it is important to preserve and share not only the land, but also the language of the Indigenous Peoples and their style of music. "Okâwîmâw Askiy (Mother Earth)” by Sheryl Sewepagaham was a perfect song choice to finish off the section of the concert entitled The First Caregivers. 🎶🌿🌎❤️🥁
