hello hello! In this video, I show you how to make a simple cat ear beanie. It's very easy, and I take you through each step, so don't be worried if you're a beginner to crochet :)

:: TOOLS ::
•• DK weight or light Worsted weight yarn. I used 100% merino wool DK weight yarn in three different colours (but you can do as many or as few colours as you'd like!)
•• 4mm crochet hook (US size 4)
•• tapestry needle

:: WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS::
•• Start with Yarn A, Chain 8 +1 extra to act as the first single crochet
•• Turn your work, single crochet into the back loop of the second stitch of the chain (do not count the +1 chain we did to act as the first single crochet)
•• Continue to single crochet into the back loop only until the end, chain 1 and turn.
•• Continue the ribbing until you make a loop that is the same as the circumference of your head. Make sure to take into account how much it will stretch! Cast off.
•• Sew along the edges so you have a loop
•• Row 1: With Yarn B, do double crochets into each row end, all the way around. Join the round with a slip stitch
•• Row 2: Switch to Yarn C, do half double crochets around, join with a slip stitch.
•• Row 3-15: Continue to switch between double and half double crochets, switch colours between each round.
•• Row 16-18: For these last three rows, you will continue like in rows 3-15, however on each corner (fold seam when laid down flat) decrease once per corner, twice per row. This will create a more rounded ear look.
•• Row 19: Turn the work inside-out, fold the piece in half, and line up the top, do either slip stitches or single crochets into the back loop only of each half of the hat, sealing the top. Weave in all ends.
Final Step: Wear your cool hat and impress all your friends!!
