10 Locomotives! Train in Trouble! 2 Crews! Front Cab & Rear DPU Engineers! At Steep Swarthout Canyon! I listened to my scanner for hours on this morning. This train died and tied down in Keenbrook. About a mile below this location. We’re at the upper Swarthout crossing. Right on top of the San Andreas Fault. A mechanic on the radio worked with the crew. They finally got this train up and running by adding 2 engines on the tail and a crew. It’s a heavy Manifest train. The UP mechanic and the crews can be heard getting this train up the steep grade at this sector. SD70ACe leader followed by 7 lead helpers! As we watch the rear lead DPU go by, you can see the trail engineer, give us a wave. That’s super rare. Buddy added a bouns for the die hard rail fan subscribers. A BNSF Port Stack/Ethanol tank train. Eastbound on main track 1.
