A 1500m 5.4 ski descent on the rarely skiied Brenva face of Mt Blanc. We had scoped the line a few days earlier from across the valley and the often icy line appeared very well filled in with snow plastering the face. After a early start from the Cosmique hut, we headed up to the Brenva col just below the summit of Mt Blanc before dropping in. Consistently steep and exposed skiing, with complex route finding requiring 2x 30m rappels to get through the top rock band section. I had a near miss when my toe piece popped out while sidestepping an icy section on the lower face - thankfully it stopped just below me in the snow, and after a tricky one footed transition to crampons I could retrieve it and continue skiing. Getting out of here on foot would have been difficult and dangerous! All up an incredible but full on day with Will Rowntree and Ross Hewitt
