Leonor, Princess of Asturias, is the eldest daughter of King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain. She was born on October 31, 2005, at Ruber International Hospital in Madrid. She is currently the heiress to the Spanish throne and became an heiress when her father ascended to the throne on June 19, 2014. Her younger sister, Infanta Sofía, follows her in the line of succession.

On September 22, 2023, the Royal Household announced that the princess would be sworn into the Constitution on her 18th birthday, October 31, 2023. Three weeks earlier, on October 7, 2023, the Princess pledged allegiance to the Spanish flag at the Military Academy.

If Leonor ascends to the throne, she will be Spain's first queen regnant since her fourth great-grandmother Isabella II, who reigned from 1833 to 1868.
