It's the second half of my Canada Day double-double. If the first half was the cream that rose to the top, this isn't so much sugar as artificial sweetener: Nothing of substance and it tastes a little off.

Twice before on the channel, I've brought you entries in the CrossCountry Canada series of educational games. Today, I play the forgotten interquel. CrossCountry Canada: Platinum was supposed to be an update and improvement on the original CrossCountry Canada to cover all the changes in the country from the original's release in 1986 to this release in the year 2000. Turns out that you can update a game and make it much worse. Must have been the template for XIII...

CrossCountry Canada: Platinum is an educational game developed and published by Ingenuity Works and released for Windows & Mac OS in 2000. This is part of the CrossCountry series of educational games that also include CrossCountry Canada and CrossCountry Canada 2.

In CrossCountry Canada: Platinum, players drive a transport as they deliver 50 commodities to and from 79 Canadian cities from coast to coast to coast. The game also features some education components involving math, geography and decision making.
