Genomic DNA Extraction Kit provides a quick, simple, and less toxic method for isolating DNA from different types of biological samples. There is a specific DNA extraction kit available for a specific type of sample. Extracted DNA is free of contaminants and is suitable for downstream applications like PCR, restriction enzyme digestion, cloning, and sequencing.

DNA Extraction Kits provide lysis buffer, which lyses the cells and solubilizes proteins, DNA, and other cellular components. Proteinase K is used to digest the proteins in the sample after cell lysis. The DNA in the supernatant is precipitated using ethanol and then loaded into the spin column. DNA extraction kits employ silica-based technology which allows the negatively charged DNA to bind to the solid phase silica membrane embedded in the spin column in the presence of high chaotropic salts (Esser et al., 2006).
