ఇక్కడ ప్రధానంగా రెండు మూలమూర్తులు ఉన్నటువంటి ఆలయం ద్వారక మహర్షి తపస్సు ఫలితంగా ఆవిర్భవించిన స్వయంభు శ్రీ వెంకటేశ్వర స్వామి వారు, తిరుమల నుంచి తెచ్చి ప్రతిష్టించినటువంటి విగ్రహం ఉండటం వలన ఈ క్షేత్రం చిన్న తిరుపతిగా ప్రసిద్ధి చెందింది. అంతేకాక బ్రహ్మ పురాణంలో ఈ క్షేత్రం గురించి వివరణ ఉండటం వలన వెంకటేశ్వర స్వామి వారి దేవాలయాలలో అత్యంత పురాతనమైన ఆలయముగా ప్రసిద్ధి చెందినది.
