*On LG washers after 2020 there is a new way of accessing the diagnostic or service mode on LG washing machines and washer-dryers.* This video demonstrates not only entry into test mode but also the necessary steps to complete the test sequence.

Firstly, examine the door lock and all LEDs. Secondly, test the motor in a clockwise rotation at 45 RPM, although this may differ between models. Thirdly, assess the low spin speed, typically around 600 RPM or 50% of the maximum speed displayed. Fourthly, evaluate the maximum RPM.

Fifthly, inspect the water valve and pressure switch system. This involves testing each individual water valve over three steps, as well as understanding how the washing machine utilises frequency in Hertz to relay information from the pressure switch to the program regarding water levels. With an empty drum, this machine has a frequency of 255; as water increases, it lowers to 229, indicating maximum capacity.

Step eight tests the circulation pump if fitted. Step nine performs an anti-clockwise rotation at 45 RPM. Step ten examines the NTC sensor, obtaining an ohms reading which informs the program of drum temperature in centigrade. Additionally, it briefly energises the heating element to test circuitry.

Test ten empties the machine and reduces water level to a maximum reading of 255, signifying its emptiness. Test eleven switches off the machine upon completion of emptying. The machine then automatically resets, allowing for continued use or rectification of any issues discovered during diagnostics.🔧
