Jim Corbett the author of the Man Eaters of Kumaon lived here next to Chotti Haldwani. He wrote qaw number of best selling books about Man eaters and India. The Corbett family home at Arundel and Jim and Maggie's home at Choti Haldwani, Kaladhungi. The care the villagers have taken to remember Jim and preserve his memory in such a special way.

I have enjoyed reading 'Carpet Sahib - A Life of Jim Corbett' By Martin Booth. For me in filled in many of the blanks that Jim doesn't mention in his books. I have also used this as the main source for the wording in my commentary in my attempt to travel back in time.
