"These classical and modern works were created for the enjoyment of many people. Some are easy and some are very difficult to mess with. The performance by Lars David Kellner realizes my best intention. Have fun." (Kazue Isida, composer of »Aves«, 2022)

Aves (translated: birds) is a composite work consisting of a total of 60 pieces for celesta or toy piano, created between 2009 and 2012 by the Japanese composer Kazue Isida. The miniatures are designed for metallophonic keyboard instruments with a minimum range of 2 octaves. The multifaceted work offers the pianistically experienced musician the rare opportunity to show off this very special type of instrument in a solo performance. Some pieces demand a high degree of technical skill, agogic freedom and articulative clarity, which can only be realized on instruments of the highest quality. (Lars David Kellner, 2022)
