Egbengwu Ojideleke, one of the major community in Nimo celebrates Annual new yam festival. The cultural event took place at the field of St.Mary catholic Egbengwu.
The chairman of the event Ogbuefi Gregory Awagụ (Idejiogugu), delivers historic remarks about the event. Rev Fr Mathew Atansi said the opening prayers. Royal father of the day, Chief Ekias Egoigwe (Ewenata Ọzọ) cut the ceremonial New Yam.
The event feature various masquerade and dance groups including Enyi Nimo, Ajọfịa Oraukwu, Queen Nneoma Egedege. Highlife maestro Elochukwu Nwa Obananya entertained guests with non-stop live band.
in his speech, Engr Obiọra Anọna expressed his happiness on the outcome and success of the event, promised that next year Egbengwu Ojideleke new yam festival will be better.
