Wangdue Nye is one of the sacred pilgrim sites in Paro but remains unknown to many Bhutanese Pilgrims. The main pilgrim site is the Guru Padmasambavas Meditation Cave. Besides the great yogis cave there are other religious figures caves like that of Dorji Phamas , Namkhai Nyingpo and many other disciples of Guru Rinpochoe.

According to the local legend it would take pilgrims atleast 2 weeks to visit all the pilgrim sites around the vicinity. Today, there is hardly any human settlements except the Wangdue Nye Lhakhang .
