VIDEO DESCRIPTION
This painting tutorial will take you through easy to follow, step-by-step instructions on how to paint this beautiful big cat image of "Panther on the Prowl". You'll learn some basic painting techniques and tips that will have you painting this gorgeous animal with movement in it's body and emotions in it's eyes. You'll learn how to paint realistic fur on a black feline with whiskers that are perfectly placed and teeth that are subtle, yet convincingly accurate. Using only 3 brushes and 6 colors we'll create this graceful, yet powerful panther with it's gazing stare and stealth movements. So let's get painting and let's get sipping!

MATERIALS:
Canvas: 16x20 stretched primed canvas
Brushes: 1/2 inch flat bristle (large), 1/4 inch flat bristle (medium), #3 round (small)
Acrylic Paint: titanium white, deep yellow, burnt umber (brown), mars black, green oxide, burnt sienna (rust)
Other: palette, cup of water for washing brushes, paper towel for drying brushes

STEPS:
1. 1/2 inch bristle brush - Paint the background with black
2. 1/4 inch bristle brush - Outline facial features with black, white, dark gray
3. #3 round brush - Paint the first layer of the eyes with yellow and white
4. 1/4 inch bristle brush - Finish outline of body with dark gray
5. 1/4 inch bristle brush - Paint the first layer of fur with black, brown, white
6. #3 round brush - Paint the teeth with brown, white, yellow and black
7. #3 round brush - Paint the bottom lip with black and white
8. #3 round brush - Paint the second layer of the eyes with rust, yellow, green, white
9. 1/4 inch bristle brush - Finish the nose with rust, brown, yellow, white and black
10. 1/4 inch bristle brush - Paint the chin fur with brown, black and white
11. 1/4 inch bristle brush - Finish the face fur with black, white, gray and brown
12. 1/4 inch bristle brush - Finish the body fur with black, white, gray and brown
13. #3 round brush - Finish the eyes with black, white, rust and brown
14. #3 round brush - Paint the whiskers with yellow, white and black
15. #3 round brush - Sign with rust and yellow
