Near, yet so far – is the assurance of human emotions, values and relations. Judgmental notions about human behaviour, emotions, characteristics or incidents are unable to provide acceptable logic or satisfying avenues in a growing complex society. Though the unpleasant dwells in relations are more visible in present-day, rationales often remain disagreeable, inexplicable. Are these phenomena really so one-dimensional? Probably not. That is what this play attempts to explore through Shantanu, Sarbojit and Damini – only and all three protagonists. Everyone has their own strong belief, logic, insight, truthfulness and lacunae. What happens when all the elements are put into a single basket? ‘Only good acting, or good music, or good set; or all those good elements, but not in sync cannot make a good theatre’. Probably it is the same for human relations. While the ‘Brain’ and the characters interchange their role as ‘real’ and ‘metaphor’, the drama unfolds intricacies of daily nuances of intimate emotions.
