First we take the steam train in the state of Upper Austria, on the border of the Czech Republic. This area became prosperous through, among other things, the trade in salt. Before the arrival of the steam train, this transport took place via a horse railway: the Pferdeeisenbahn.

Via horse track and steam train we arrive in the 21st century, where the steepest rack railway in Austria, the Schafbergbahn, travels to the top of the mountain of the same name. Fresh mountain air and beautiful views guaranteed! This railway route is one of the most beautiful in Austria. We travel from Sankt Wolfgang to the top of the Schafberg.
